Gigi Goven won the quilt which was raffled.Â It was donated by Mary Etta Moore. Many thanks to all the businesses and individuals who donated in any way.

The Valley City Post 60 American Legion baseball team will be hosting the annual Leevers Classic tournament this weekend at Charlie Brown Memorial Field. Games start today and wrap up Sunday.

Post 60 game postponed
The Valley City Post 60 American Legion baseball teamâ€™s road game at Lidgerwood Thursday was postponed.
The rescheduled game will be played alongside the teamsâ€™ June 6 game in Valley City, which will now be a sectional double-header starting at 5:30 p.m.
Minn. Vikingsâ€™ QB to sign autographs in Fargo
Minnesota Vikingsâ€™ quarterback Christian Ponder will be signing autographs in Fargo next month.
Ponder will be appearing at the Scheels sporting goods store at 5 p.m. July 12. Autographs are guaranteed for the first 500 fans. There is a one item per person limit.
VC Babe Ruth loses home games to Jamestown
The Valley City Babe Ruth baseball team lost to Jamestown in two close home games Wednesday at Charlie Brown Memorial Field. Valley City lost 6-5 in game one and dropped the second 6-3.Â
In the first game, VC led 1-0 after three innings then ran into some control problems and made several costly errors that allowed Jamestown to score six unanswered runs over the next two innings and go up 6-1.Â VC had a late rally but fell 6-5.
Jordan Magnuson had a strong start on the mound for VC but struggled with his control late in the game He allowed all six runs, but only three were earned. Jesse Johnson pitched in relief. Ben Baasch led Valley City with a 3-4 performance at the plate. Nate Rodriguez went 2-4 with three runs batted in.
Jacob Miller started the second game and had a performance that would have won most games. Jamestown came up with timely that were just out of reach of VC players that led to the outcome.
Miller pitched all five innings and gave up six runs, four earned, on eight hits. Valley City was limited to three total hits in the game. Rodriguez, Lucas Jury and Jonah Wolla each had one.
â€śJacob pitched great. Good enough to earn a win,â€ť coach Lance Lukes said.Â â€śIt was just two or three plays that changed the outcome of this game.â€ť
Valley City will host Lisbon Monday at Charlie Brown Memorial Field in a double header starting at 5 p.m.
