When the sun sets for the evening on July 5, this lake will be filled with boats and the shores will be filled with people while the sky lights up for the annual fireworks display at the Ashtabula Crossing.
The Lake Ashtabula Fireworks Association is planning another big show on the lake next Friday, and they're still taking donations to help pay for the ever-increasing cost of fireworks.
The fireworks association anticipates that boats will fill the water and people will line the shores Friday, July 5, at the Ashtabula Crossing at dusk while the sky lights up for the annual show.
The association has been selling raffle tickets for $5 a piece. Prizes include gas cards, grocery cards, cash and other prizes donated partially by some area businesses. Tickets are for sale until Saturday, July 13, and can be purchased at Brothers III or by calling Monte at (701) 840-2349 or board member Rick Anderson at (701) 840-5353. The drawing will be Saturday, July 13, at 7 p.m. at the Valley City Eagles Club. Participants need not be present to win.
The association is also still taking donations that can be sent to P.O. Box 12, Valley City, N.D. 58072.
