Fireworks Explode Early

July 1, 2013

Some of the fireworks set aside for Sanborn's July 4 celebration blew up Thursday evening in a storage bunker located northwest of Spiritwood in Stutsman County.
Terry Swenson, one of the leaders of the annual fireworks display and secretary of the Sanborn Fire Department said Friday, “Some of our projected show (fireworks) was in a bunker that exploded last night.”
Despite the explosion, Swenson said, “The show will go on,” slated to begin at dusk.
