Saturday, September 29
Mentored youth and women’s pheasant hunt is taking place in Buffalo. There will be no charge for attendees. It will be open to youth aged 12 through 17 and for women hunters. All those participating must have completed hunter education/firearm safety before Sept. 29. Those planning to participate must register by Sept. 26. The day will include bird cleaning, lunch, clay shooting, fun and informational seminars. The starting time will be 9 a.m. with a caravan leaving from the PetroServe off exit 292 of Interstate 94at 8:30 a.m. For more information call Chuck at 701-793-4585.
The Sheyenne Valley Arts & Crafts Association is celebrating the 45th Annual Sheyenne Valley Arts & Crafts Festival on Sept. 29 and 30 in Fort Ransom, N.D. There will be a Bear Creek Art Gallery on display, unique demonstrations, and a food court! Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. No pets please. Music at the Fall Festival at Sheyenne Riverbend Farm 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. each day with Stoney Run, blue grass musicians from Litchville, on Saturday and local musician Greg Hagar on Sunday. Vendors will be on scene and lunch will be available.
The annual Pumpkin Festival, featuring pumpkins and a bake sale, will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Grace Free Lutheran Church (2351 West Main St., Valley City).  Proceeds will go to the Grace Free Lutheran Youth for their National Youth Conference this summer.
Groups including Greg Hagar and Michael Whistler from Valley City, as well as, Gentle Hearts and Grace Praise from Jamestown will be preforming at an outdoor concert on the lawn at Grace Episcopal Church on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 7-9 p.m. Join in for a night of music on the lawn and relaxation with friends. Grace Episcopal Church is located at 405 Second Ave NE in Jamestown.
Kathryn Booster Club will host its first annual chili cook-off from 3-7 p.m. at the Sheyenne Saloon. Free will offering. Everyone welcome, sample all entries and vote for your favorite.
The Whoever Can Come band will be hosting another jam session at the Barnes County Museum just because they want to and they want you to come and join in the fun too Saturday Sept 29th from 1-4 p.m.  This is free and open to all so bring an instrument and come play along! Sunday, September 30
St. Agatha’s Church will hold their annual fall supper from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Hope American Legion in Hope, N.D. The cost is $10 for adults age 12 and up, $5 for youth ages 6-11 and $2 for youth 5 and younger. The menu will feature turkey dressing meatballs, mashed potatoes and all the trimmings.

Tuesday, October 2
Sheyenne Valley MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) will meet from 9-11 a.m. at The First Church of the Nazarene (913 Riverview Dr., Valley City). All mothers of children with children birth through kindergarten are welcome to attend. Onsite childcare is available. Wednesday, October 3
Valley City Barnes County Public Library will host story hour from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the library. The theme will be “Kitty Cat Capers.”
National Walk to School Day is today. Students in Valley City will be walking to school that day. For more information please call 845-6456.

Saturday, October 6
There will be a benefit for Tony Kramer of Valley City. Tony was diagnosed with stage 2 Oglioastocytoma cancer five days after getting married to his girlfriend of five years. He is currently undergoing daily radiation treatment. Please join us at Valley City Eagles Club on Oct. 6 at 5 p.m. for a spaghetti feed followed by a silent auction and gun raffle drawing. Three guns will be raffled including a rifle, shotgun and and a .22 caliber. If you can donate any items to silent auction please drop off at VC Eagles or Ingstad Family Media Jamestown under Kramer benefit name.
Epworth United Methodist Women’s will host a bazaar and luncheon from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church (680 8th Ave. SW, Valley City). The event will feature lefse, baked goods, crafts and baskets. The lunch ticket is also a ticket for the drawing of the “Ultimate Basket.” Parking is available on the west side of the church.

Sunday, October 7
St. Mary’s Fall Supper, from 4 until 7 p.m.  The church is located is located 6 miles east of Dazey. Come and enjoy our turkey dinner served with all the trimmings and homemade German sauerkraut.  In addition, come and check out our “Basket Blitz”, an assortment of unique gift baskets which we will have for sale.  Prices are adult, $10; ages 6-12, $5; and preschool, $2.

Wednesday, October 10
