Saturday, October 6
There will be a benefit for Tony Kramer of Valley City. Tony was diagnosed with stage 2 Oglioastocytoma cancer five days after getting married to his girlfriend of five years. He is currently undergoing daily radiation treatment. Please join us at Valley City Eagles Club on Oct. 6 at 5 p.m. for a spaghetti feed followed by a silent auction and gun raffle drawing. Three guns will be raffled including a rifle, shotgun and and a .22 caliber. If you can donate any items to silent auction please drop off at VC Eagles or Ingstad Family Media Jamestown under Kramer benefit name.
Epworth United Methodist Women’s will host a bazaar and luncheon from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church (680 8th Ave. SW, Valley City). The event will feature lefse, baked goods, crafts and baskets. The lunch ticket is also a ticket for the drawing of the “Ultimate Basket.” Parking is available on the west side of the church.

Sunday, October 7
St. Mary’s Fall Supper, from 4 until 7 p.m.  The church is located is located 6 miles east of Dazey. Come and enjoy our turkey dinner served with all the trimmings and homemade German sauerkraut.  In addition, come and check out our “Basket Blitz”, an assortment of unique gift baskets which we will have for sale.  Prices are adult, $10; ages 6-12, $5; and preschool, $2.

Wednesday, October 10
Valley City Barnes County Public Library will host story hour from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the library. The Rev. David Montecuollo will be the guest speaker.

Thursday, October 11
The Valley City Farmers Market, every Thursday, 4-6 p.m. Shopko parking lot.
Red River Valley Veterans Concert Band performs a free concert 8 p.m. at the Valley City Eagle Aerie. The band honors all branches of the U.S. armed services.

Saturday, October 13
Faith Lutheran Church in Valley City will hold its fall festival, serving homemade lefse, pies and lots of other goodies plus a dinner of scalloped potatoes and ham with all the trimmings. The festival beings 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Proceeds from the festival are given to mission work, various organizations, charities, our youth groups and other needs in the church.

Valley City Blood Drive will be held on Monday, October 15, 2012 from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 138 3rd St NW. All healthy persons 16 (with parental permission on a special form provided by United Blood Services) and older are invited to give blood. Sheyenne Valley MOPS(Mothers of Preschoolers) will meet from 9-11 a.m. at The First Church of the Nazarene – 913 Riverview Dr Valley City. All mothers of children with children birth through kindergarten are welcome to attend. Onsite childcare is available. Due to scheduling conflicts, the regular monthly meeting of the Valley City NARFE Chapter 1839 has beeen changed, and will be held on Tuesday, October 16 at noon at the Valley City Senior Center.

7th Annual Rotary Wine social will be held on Oct. 23 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Barnes County Museum.  Tickets are $15 each and available from any Rotary member.

Thursday, October 25

Friday, October 26
Full Nelson Karaoke, 8:30 p.m. to midnight in the Valley City American Legion Club rooms. Also at the same time on Nov. 16. and Dec. 14. Must be 21 or older to attend. The event supports Legion Baseball.
