Saturday, November 3
Barnes County Auditor’s Office will be open 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. for Absentee Voting for the 2012 General Election.
Jeannie and Roger Preszler invite the public to join them for the first in a series of free presentations on reducing stress during the holidays. Whoever it is who can come with the Whoever Can Come Band will be coming from 1 to 4 p.m. to host another free and open to all jam session at the Barnes County Museum. Sunday, November 4
Tim and SueAnn Berntson family will be holding a free concert at the Elim Evangelical Free Church, 1141 9th St SW, Valley City at 3 p.m. Pie and coffee to follow.

Monday, November 5 through Friday, November 9
Jefferson and Washington Elementary Schools in Valley City will host their annual Scholastic Book Fair in the libraries of their schools Nov. 5-9 during school hours. Funds raised will help purchase books for the libraries. The libraries will also be open Nov. 8 until 8 p.m. The book fair is open to the public.

Wednesday, November 7
Valley City Barnes County Public Library will host story hour from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the library. The theme will be “Chocolate Daze.” Kristi Shanenko and eighth graders will be the speakers.

Thursday, November 8
Second Crossing Toastmasters meet every Thursday from 12-1 p.m. in the Norway Room at the VCSU Student Center.  Visitors are always welcome. Call Janet at 845-2596 for more information.

saturday, November 10
Kathryn WELCA Bazaar at St. Paul’s Lutheran. Soup, sandwich, and pie lunches. Bake sale, quilts, raffle, etc. All are welcomed. Hunters and harvesters, come as you are for a great lunch.

Sunday, November 11
St Paul’s Tower City Lutheran WELCA Bake/Soup and Sandwich Lunch will be held from 11 a.m to 1:30 p.m. at the Tower City Community Hall, Tower City, N.D. A raffle will be held for a handmade quilt and afhgan.

Monday, November 12
The Region VI Parent Resource Center will be holding a divorce education class, “Crossroads of Parenting and Divorce” at Head Start, 101 College St. SW, in Valley City from 6 to 8 p.m.  Class is free and childcare is available. Please call the Barnes County Extension Service at 845-8528 to register. The class is sponsored by NDSU Extension Service and ND Department of Human Services - Children & Family Services Division.

Tuesday, November 13
An On the Move 2013 preview will be held from 12-1 p.m. at the Hi-Liner Activity Center lobby. Free smoothie samples will be served.

Wednesday, November 14
Valley City Barnes County Public Library will host story hour from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the library. Carole Flatau will be the speaker.

Thursday, November 15

Friday, November 16
Full Nelson Karaoke, 8:30 p.m. to midnight in the Valley City American Legion Club rooms. Also at the same time on Dec. 14. Must be 21 or older to attend. The event supports Legion Baseball.

Saturday, november 17
The ninth annual North Dakota State Coin Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Doublewood Inn  (3333 13th Ave. S,  Fargo) The show will feature over 50 dealers showing coins, currency, foreign coins, stamps and tokens. Monday, November 26
The Barnes County Wildlife Club will be sponsoring the 29th Annual Buck Show starting at 6 p.m. at the Eagles Club in Valley City. They will be accepting deer entries until 7:30 p.m. Participants should enter through the basement door on the west side of the Eagles when they bring their deer in. Chili will be served starting at 6 p.m. until gone. Participants must be a Barnes County resident or a Barnes County Wildlife Club member in order for their deer to be eligible to participate. The club will score deer that aren’t eligible if they are brought in.

Wednesday, November 28
Valley City Barnes County Public Library will host story hour from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the library. There will be a guest speaker.

Thursday, November 29
