Elmer Erbele

Elmer Erbele, 97, Wishek, ND died Early Wednesday Morning December 25, 2013 at the Wishek Living Center in Wishek, ND.
Elmer Erbele was born July 6, 1916 at Lehr, ND, the son of Andrew Erbele and Martha (Reich) Erbele. He attended the local rural school where he received his elementary education and grew to manhood in the vicinity.
He entered the US Army May 2, 1942 and served in the European Theater and was honorably discharged May of 1946.
He and Emilie Presler were married November 29, 1948 at Kulm, ND. They made their home 14 miles North of Lehr, ND and in 1996 moved into Lehr. In December of 2012 they moved into the Wishek Living Center.
He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Lehr and served on the ASCS Committee. He was elected in 1960 to the Lehr School Board.
He is survived by his wife, Emilie, Wishek, ND; 2 sons, Dennis (Cathy) Erbele, Lehr, ND; Garland (Pauline) Erbele, Pierre, SD; 2 daughters, Grace (Bruce) Haugen, Hutchinson, MN; Diane Erbele, Bloomington, MN; 2 sisters, Mildred Kautz, Wishek, ND and Delores (Russell) Fiechtner, Lehr, ND.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers.
Funeral Service –10:30 AM Saturday December 28, 2013 at the Zion United Methodist Church in Lehr, ND with Rev. Marty Toepke-Floyd, officiating.
Interment – Lehr Cemetery in Lehr, ND (in the spring).
Visitation: 4 – 7 Friday at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Wishek, ND.
