Edward “Shorty” Zdeb
Edward “Shorty” Zdeb, age 86, passed away November 30, 2012 in Milwaukee, WI.
Shortly was born November 16, 1926 to Joe and Elna (Carlson) Zdeb in Barnes County, ND. He attended King School and entered the US Army in November of 1945, spending part of his tour in Germany. He returned to North Dkaota and on May 28, 1949 married Mavis Dahl of Valley City, ND.
In 1952, Mavis, Shorty and son Terry moved to Wisconsin where Shortly worked at the Rexnord Foundry until their closing. He then did odd jobs until he started making windmills, spinnners and other lawn ornaments, which he sold all over the world.
Shortly is survivied by his four sons, Terry, Ed, Ron (Lois) and Chris. Three grandchildren Joe, Crystal and Eric. Two great-grandchilren, sisters Grace Hanson, Ellen Sherman, Sis Hendrickson. Brothers Joe and Ralph and many nieces and nephews.
Shorty is preceded in death by his wife Mavis in 1998, his parents and several brothers and sisters.
No services are being planned, however a get together for family and friends will be held Saturday, December 15, 2012 from 12:00-4:00 p.m. At the Howell Gardens, 6247 S. Howell, Milwaukee, WI. Shorty's ashes will be placed next to his wife Mavis at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetary.
