Valley City State’s Aaron Duske is the fifth North Star Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, the NSAA announced Monday.

Duske, the 6-foot-4 senior guard from Buffalo Minn., averaged 20 points, six rebounds, two assists, 1.5 blocks and .5 steals per game as VCSU split a pair of NSAA conference home games with a 71-69 loss to rival Jamestown on Jan. 29 and an 88-63 win over Dakota State on Saturday.

He put up 19 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks and a steal in the nail-biter loss to the Jimmies, and 21 points and five rebounds in the 88-63 victory over the Trojans. As a result, Duske became VCSU’s No. 8 all-time scorer with 1,278 career points.

For the week, Duske shot 14-of-29 from the field (48.3 percent), 4-of-8 from the three-point line (50 percent) and made 8 of 12 free throws (66.7 percent).
