Dietrich, Suhr 1-Hit Wishek

June 27, 2014

(Jake McNeal/Times-Record) Garret Suhr (above) pitched a five-inning one-hitter on two walks and 11 strikeouts in Thursday night’s game two, a 14-0 win over Wishek. Valley City took the first game, 12-0, on Dawson Dietrich’s five-inning, one-hit, one walk, 10-strikeout performance.

Dawson Dietrich and Garret Suhr threw back-to-back five-inning District one-hitters as Valley City Babe Ruth swept Wishek 12-0 and 14-0 Thursday night at Charlie Brown Field.

“This was a good bounce-back for our boys today after a tough one yesterday [a 3-2 District loss at Napoleon],” Valley City head coach Lance Lukes said. “Both pitchers today did what they needed to do, and threw strikes with the lead they were given. Today was just one of those days at the plate where guys found spots where the defenders couldn’t make a play on it.”
