Derek Elliott Wins Offensive Player of the Week

Derek Elliott of Valley City State was selected as a North Star Athletic Association Football Player of the Week, the NSAA announced Monday.

Elliott ran for a career-high 266 yards, the second-highest single game total in VCSU football program history, in the Vikings' 56-28 loss to NAIA No. 1 Morningside University on Saturday.

Elliott averaged 11.5 yards per carry and recorded touchdown runs of 77, 64 and 23 yards, as well as a successful 2-point conversion.

VCSU hosts its first-ever North Star Athletic Association football conference game on Saturday against Dakota State at 6 p.m. in Valley City.
