Dale E. Webster
Dale E. Webster, 75, of Aneta Parkview Nursing Home, formerly of Valley City, passed away surrounded by all of his children and grandchildren at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks at 7:55 pm on Tuesday evening, April 23rd following complications of an infection.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Valley City, ND. Visitation will be held on Saturday evening from 4 until 7 p.m. followed by prayer service at the Lerud-Schuldt Funeral Home in Valley City and one hour before the service at the church in Valley City. Interment will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery near Mandan, ND.
Dale Edward Webster was born on January 7, 1938 in Valley City to Leslie and Viola (Engel) Webster. He was raised in Valley City and graduated from Valley City High School in 1956 and attended North Dakota State University. He enlisted in the North Dakota National Guard in 1955 and served in the 141st Engineer Battalion until he was honorably discharged. In May of 1960 Dale married Donna Holm. Dale and Donna raised three children in Valley City.
Dale and Donna purchased Webster heating and manufacturing from his parents, it later became Webster Plumbing and Heating. Dale was a long time member and former manager of the Valley City Fraternal Order of Eagle’s. Dale rose through the ranks of local, state and national Grand Aerie Eagle offices; and was installed as Grand Worthy President in Las Vegas, Nevada in August of 1989 with many of his family members present.
Dale was a member and officer of the American Legion, Valley City Am Vets, Last Man’s Club; he was a North Dakota Winter Show Director and member of the Valley City Planning and Zoning Board for many years. Dale was a volunteer firefighter for over 20 years before he retired. In his younger days Dale was an avid hunter, he was a bowler and golfer, and he often had a large garden; when the children were young the Webster’s spent a lot of time at their lake home on Lake Ashtabula.
After an illness in 2007 Dale became a resident of the Aneta Parkview Nursing Home where he has resided ever since. Dale was loved by many, near and far.
Dale is survived by his daughter Lisa Ott of Cooperstown; sons Todd (Lee) and Scott Webster of Valley City; grandchildren Lucas (Mary) Ott of Wheatland; Dannielle Webster of Valley City; Cameron Ott and Cody Webster of Grand Forks; and KeriAnn Ott of Verndale, MN; sister Lorrine (Larry) Larson of Spirit Lake, Iowa; brother-in-law Ronald Klebe of Willow City, ND and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Dale was preceded in death by grandson Keegan Nicholas Ott, parents Leslie and Viola, brothers, Donald, Wally, Dean, and Robert Webster, and sisters, Donna McDonald and Carol Klebe.
