County-City Feud: Costs Adding Up

9-1-1 dispatcher Holly Neuberger, who currently works for Valley City, will be a Barnes County employee in July when the county takes over operations of the 9-1-1 dispatch center.

During a recent meeting of the Barnes County Commission, commissioner Phil Leitner expressed concern with the rising costs involved with the county's separation from Valley City. Times-Record reporter Bonnie Jo Hanson looked at various possible scenarios, and has estimated what it may cost residents of Barnes County to separate from the city.
