First Baptist Church invites kids ages 5-12 to the City Park, Main Street entrance, from 3-5 p.m. for five days of fun. The club meets for 90 minutes each day featuring memory verses, bible lessons, songs, prizes, fun activities and great games. For more info call (701) 845-4500.

Monday, July 25
A farmers market will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Rosebud Visitors Center Parking Lot in Valley City.

The ND Hunger Free Distribution will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church from 5 to 6 p.m. Those who are in need of a ND Hunger Free Distribution Referral Card should check with Barnes County Social Services, City-County Health, and the Women, Infants and Children’s program (WIC). Distribution will be each Monday and Thursday through the end of September.

Tuesday, July 26
Valley City-Barnes County Public Library Tuesday movie is “Rataouille,” shown at 2 p.m. Minute to Win It Games will be held at 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday, July 27
Valley City Crazy Daze will be held on Central Avenue, Valley City, from 7 a.m.-6:45 p.m. For more information call the Valley City Area Chamber of Commerce office at (701) 845-1891 or visit www.ValleyCityChamber.com.

A freewill offering barbecue beef sandwich supper and silent auction fundraiser for Prairie Paws Rescue will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Valley City VFW Club. All proceeds will go to the Prairie Paws Rescue to assist with the care of the 64 Australian Cattle Dogs that were seized by the Barnes County Sheriff's Office last month.

District 24 Democrats-NPL Family Picnic will be held at the Dacotah Pavilion, Chautauqua Park, Valley City, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. There will be activities for children. Freewill offering.

Music at the Courthouse, featuring Maasjo Sisters of Valley City, will be held at 7:15 p.m. on Central Avenue in Valley City. A freewill offering is taken each night to support the continued work on the City Park Bandshell. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held at the Valley City VFW Club on Main Street.

Thursday, July 28
Valley City-Barnes County Public Library will host Fun with Food at 10:30 a.m., and Teen Zombie Prom from 6 to 8 p.m.

A farmers market will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Shopko parking lot.

Barnres County Senior Center will hold a pinochle tournament at 1:15 p.m.

“This Hope” will perform at the First Church of the Nazarene, 913 Riverview Drive in Valley City, at 7 p.m. The event is open to the public with a freewill offering.

Saturday, July 30
A 50th anniversary celebration of Clausen Springs Recreational Area will be held from 2 to 10:30 p.m. The day will feature a full day of celebrating, music, and dancing featuring the talents of Raw Sugar and Blind Joe. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held in the Kathryn Hall in Kathryn, N.D.

Sunday, July 31
Backpack Giveaway will be held at 6 p.m. at the New Life Assembly of God Church, 520 Winter Show Road SW in Valley City. For more information on the 2016 version of The Amazing Backpack Giveaway, visit www.newlifevc.com/backpack.
