Monday, December 14
Barnes County On the Move is offering a free exercise class for cancer survivors from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Valley City Parks and Rec Fitness Center. Participants are encouraged to bring a support person. To register, call Young People's Healthy Heart Program at CHI Mercy Health at 701-845-6456.

The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will stop in Enderlin for the town's ChristkindlFest celebration at 9 p.m. at the CP Depot. Those who attend are asked to bring a donation for the Ransom County Food Pantry.

Tuesday, December 15
The Barnes County Commission will meet in the commission chambers at the Barnes County Courthouse at 8 a.m.

Area police, fire and emergency personnel will shop with less fortunate children in the area during the annual Santa, Cops and Kids event.

Dacotah Bank Holiday Open House will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 240 Third Street Northwest, Valley City. The open house will feature holiday treats, hot apple cider and coffee.

Valley City-Barnes County Public Library's Teen Movie Club will meet at 4 p.m. for "Nightmare Before Christmas."

The Valley City City Commission will meet at 5 p.m. at City Hall.

The Barnes County Courthouse Carol Sing will be held at 7:30 p.m. and will feature the Valley Voices women's choir, the Valley City Children's Choir and the Valley Troubadours men's choir. Admission is free and the building is handicapped accessible.

Wednesday, December 16
The ninth annual "Sounds of the Season" brown bagger series will be held from 12:10 to 12:55 p.m. in the sanctuary of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 138 Third Street Northwest, Valley City. Faye Bubach will be the featured performer.

Valley City-Barnes County Public Library Circle Time with Amanda Adams will be held at 10 a.m., and story hour with Mary Mitzel will be held at 10:30 a.m.

Trinity Lutheran Church, 499 Fourth Avenue Northwest in Valley City, will hold an Advent Prayer from 12:10 to 12:30 p.m. followed by a soup lunch until 12:50 p.m. The church will also hold Advent Vespers, a contemplative service of silence, song, readings and prayer for those who desire quite pauses in a busier, nosier season. All are welcome.

Thursday, December 17
Valley City Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its Christmas in the Valley button raffle grand prize drawings at Dutton's Parlour at 6 p.m.

Barnes County Senior Center will serve a pork roast supper at 5:30 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by JoAnne Moeler and Faye Bubach.

Friday, December 18
Enderlin's ChristkindlFest Show and Soup Supper will be held in the City Auditorium. The soup supper is at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m.

Sunday, December 20
First Church of the Nazarene will hold its Carols, Communion and Candlelight Service Advent Worship at 10:30 a.m. and its Children's Christmas Musical at 6 p.m. at 913 Riverview Drive, Valley City.

Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Sanborn will hold its Sunday School Christmas program at 10:30 a.m. with a potluck following. Everyone welcome.
