Here are some events coming up this week around Valley City:

Monday, June 15
Hunter education course, sponsored by the Barnes County Wildlife Club, begins tonight from 6-9:30 p.m. at the Rhoades Science Center, 101 College Street Southeast, Valley City. The course is free and will be held June 15, 16, 18, 23 and 25 from 6-9:30 p.m. For more information, call (701) 845-3211 or (701) 490-3211.

Tuesday, June 16
Barnes County Extension Service will be offering a new Nourishing Boomers and Beyond class called Nourishing Your Bones and Joints at The Legacy Place from 10-11 a.m. The class is free and open to the public.

Wednesday, June 17
Music at the Courthouse lawn features Kroshus & Krew from Wahpeton. The program begins at 7:15 p.m. Bring your own lawn chairs. A freewill offering will be taken. In case of inclement weather, the program will be in the Vault on Central Avenue.

Thursday, June 18
Practice for the Valley City Hi-Liner Reunion Marching Band's performance in the parade Saturday, begins Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Valley City High School band room. Practice will also be held Friday, June 19 at 5 p.m. at Hanna Field west parking lot and Saturday, June 20 before the parade at 9 a.m. in front of Jefferson Elementary School. Friday, June 19
The Barnes County Relay for Life will be held on the Barnes County Courthouse lawn beginning at 5 p.m. The event features ceremonies, vendors and the lighting of luminaries at dusk.
