Claus, Hass, Lindgren in Shrine Game Sunday
Hi-Liner graduates Jesse Hass and Dustin Lindgren join Enderlin/Maple Valley graduate defensive end Dylan Claus on the 11-Man Football East Team in Sunday’s 41st annual, WDAY TV-broadcasted North Dakota Shrine Bowl, 4 p.m. at the FargoDome in Fargo, N.D.
Hass, an offensive lineman, was First Team All-Region and First Team All-State, and became Valley City’s Most Valuable Offensive Lineman and a Large Dairy Queen Blizzard Award winner — for having performed a pancake block this season — at Nov. 24, 2013’s Hi-Liner Football Award Ceremony.
Lindgren received a Hi-Liner Training Award and was the team’s Most Valuable Back/Receiver.
Claus and Lindgren have signed football letters of intent at Valley City State University.
Both the East and West teams reported to practice on Tuesday at Mayville State University and will complete six days of training and ceremony with Sunday’s 7 a.m.-to-7:45 a.m. continental breakfast, 7 a.m.-to-8:30 a.m. player checkout and 10:30 a.m. banquet at the Holiday Inn in Fargo before Sunday’s 11-Man Game that precedes the 7 p.m. 9-Man Game.
Bill Lorenz of the North Dakota High School Coaches Association announced Monday that Sunday’s games feature 16 coaches and 132 players from North Dakota and northwest Minnesota.
