City Approves Flood Protection Plans

Valley City State University's walking bridge is drenched with flood waters during the 2011 spring flood. Valley City approved the first phase of building permanent flood protection around the university Tuesday.

The Valley City City Commission unanimously approved phase one of the city's permanent flood protection construction plan during a regular meeting Tuesday.
The plan, estimated at $12.5 million, includes permanent flood protection in the Valley City State University area.
