Rally in the Valley Weekend Crazy Days
June 14-16 July 24
Greetings From Your President
By Michelle Wobbema, Bank Forward
I cannot wait for some warmer weather! It will be great to be able to get outdoors and start enjoying all that summer fun! Well, whether the weather is warm or not, our summer events will still be happening. The Chamber staff and committee members are in full swing with the planning of our Annual Banquet, Rally in the Valley, and Crazy Days. This year's annual banquet is on May 14th at Sabir's. The social will begin at 5:30, followed by dinner and a program about marketing with social media. I would like to thank our guest speaker, Staff Sergeant Heather Kunz for being our entertainment for the night. This year instead of doing a table decorating contest, we are asking people to bring/make centerpieces. Then we will have drawings to give out the creative centerpieces that are made. I am excited to so how creative everyone will be with this new challenge. Once again, the Chamber will be giving out awards for the following: Hi-Line Award, Community Spirit Award, Community Image Award, and Business of the Year. Tickets are available at the Chamber office for $18 each if you are interested in attending this event. Rally in the Valley is scheduled for June 15th this year. There will be all day family events followed by a street dance in the Broken Spoke parking lot. This year The Broken Spoke has booked two bands for our enjoyment. To start the evening out we have the VCHS Senior band called 3 Card Molly that will perform from 6-8pm. The band 8 Foot 4 will finish off the night, playing from 8 pm-1 am. Please come out to support our community and enjoy a fun filled day. Planning a little further ahead, we have Crazy Days scheduled for July 24th. Business After Hours last month was held at the Country Club. Thanks to everyone who was able to get out and support the County Club and to welcome the new manager, Brenda Bjork. I would like to say congratulations to Denise Olson from Pizza Corner for receiving a customer service award. Great job Denise! I would like to say a special thanks to George Gaukler, Paige Bjornson, Wade Bruns and Jennifer Feist for their extra support of the Chamber. It is greatly appreciated and I look forward to working with each of you.
