Cemetery Gets a Face-Lift

This memorial stone, marking the grave of a Spanish American War veteran, is one of the oldest in a section of the Woodbine Cemetery owned by the Valley City American Legion Auxiliary. Veterans have been buried in this section of the cemetery free of charge for decades.

Part of Woodbine Cemetery in Valley is getting a facelift. Tuesday, a pair of contractors began the task of straightening and securing gravestones of veterans – some from as far back as the Civil War – on an edge of the cemetery reserved for veterans. More in Wednesday's Times-Record.
