Catholic Schools Week a Success at St. Catherine School

February 9, 2012

The week of celebrating brought many people into the school to enjoy time with the students and be thanked for all they do to help our school. We began with the 10:30am Mass on Sunday by acknowledging Dacotah Bank as a business who has continually helped St. Catherine School through the annual Fall Auction and the REACH organization. We also thanked Mr. Ken Kohler Jr. for his constant efforts with the Auction and his many years as a REACH Board of Director.
On Monday we had a full house for a free Bingo party in honor of our parents, grandparents and friends of St. Kates who support the school.
Tuesday saw the students and staff go on a scavenger hunt in the morning and along with three dads sledding by the softball fields, in the afternoon.
Wednesday we had a celebration of songs and prayer in gratitude to our active and retired veterans. Following the program, our guests were treated to a noon meal of homemade soup and sandwiches. Before the celebration, students and staff spent time in Adoration praying for our military families.
Thursday the students were taken to a matinee showing of Alvin and the Chipmonks movie that was in town.
Friday we closed our celebration with announcing of the contest winners after Chapel and an All School Mass in Church.
We are very grateful to the many who make it possible for St. Catherine Parish to have an elementary school for families who wish to attend.
