Burglary Suspect in Custody

May 22, 2014

Paul Jacob Myles, the suspect in an early morning burglary at the Valley City AmericInn Monday, turned himself in Wednesday and is currently held in the Barnes County Correctional Facility.
Just after Midnight Wednesday, Myles, 26, of Valley City, turned himself in to the Valley City Police Department in response to a warrant issued Tuesday for his arrest.
Myles, 26, is accused of entering the AmericInn early Monday morning. He allegedly went into the office, where he took the business safe along with cash from the till before leaving the business through a rear door, dropping the safe as he ran away, according to a release from Valley City Police Chief Fred Thompson. Myles, a former employee of the AmericInn, was identified by careful inspection of surveillance video.
Tuesday, VCPD executed a search warrant at Myles' home at 405 Second Street, Valley City, and recovered evidence resulting in an arrest warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia and theft of property.
