Brady Anderson NSAA Baseball Player of the Year

Viking sophomore Brady Anderson is the North Star Athletic Association Baseball Player of the Year and is one of six Vikings to receive postseason honors, the NSAA announced Monday at the conclusion of the conference tournament.

Anderson led the North Star with a .443 batting average, picked up 23 extra-base hits and hit three home runs, drove in 38 runs and led the Vikings with a .506 on-base percentage and a .678 slugging percentage. Anderson was also named the NAIA National Player of the Week on April 1, and is All-Conference as a utility.

Senior Cole Honl is an All-Conference designated hitter after batting .339 with 18 extra-base hits and a .517 slugging percentage. Honl led the Vikings with 35 runs scored, five home runs and 44 RBIs.

Senior Dan Buehner, who passed away in a tragic rafting accident late in the season, received All-Conference catcher recognition after batting .348 with a .411 on-base and .470 slugging percentage.

Sophomore right-hander Corey Pudas and senior righty Bryce Venaas are both Honorable Mention All-Conference pitchers. Pudas achieved a 6-2 record and a 4.11 earned run average, working 61 1/3 innings and pitching three complete games. Venaas’s 4.08 ERA led the team as he posted a 3-5 record and pitched 68.1 innings with two complete games for a .252 opposing batting average.

Pudas, having committed just one error all season, made the Gold Glove Team. Senior Kayl Hamre is also a Gold Glove Award member for his .968 fielding percentage and having committed only two errors in 63 chances
