Better weather ahead predicted

April 20, 2012

Temperatures this weekend may be on the cooler side than what people would prefer, but following a strong chance of rain in the area tonight and a cloudy weekend, temps are predicted to be in the upper 60s and 70s next week.

National Weather Service meteorologist Peter Rogers said today would be “pretty cloudy for a good chunk of the day” with overnight thunderstorms moving through around midnight.

“Most of the precipitation should move off by morning,” he said. “The rest of Saturday looks mainly dry with increasing cloud cover.”

Winds are supposed to pick up later on Saturday with clouds beginning to clear in the evening.

Sunday will by dry with a high around 59, winds from the northwest will range between 10 and 20 mph, but “There will be more sun than clouds,” Rogers said.

Monday’s high was expected to be in the range of 66, Tuesday near 74, and similar temperatures predicted throughout the week.
