Benefit Set for Oriska Family Who Lost Home in Fire

December 30, 2013

On Dec. 4, an Oriska family lost everything when the home Becky Sundstrom shared with Andrew Gubrud and daughter Nellie was destroyed by fire. While the family was out of harm's way, their four dogs, Daisy, Hector, Peanut and Astrid, all died in the blaze.

A benefit supper and silent auction for Andrew Gubrud and Becky Sundstrom, who lost their home in a house fire earlier this month, will be held Saturday, Jan. 18 from 5-8 p.m. at the Valley City Eagles Club. The spaghetti supper will be available for a free-will offering, and a silent auction and Ruby's Karaoke will also be held.
The family plans to rebuild this spring and are very thankful of the support they have received from the community.
For more information or to donate silent auction items, call (218) 779-4000.
