BCBS Adds Jobs This Year

December 27, 2013

Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota employees in Valley City's call center all enjoy the opportunity to have their jobs in Valley City. Alesha Grenz, left, was recently promoted to a representative of the Blue Cross Member Advocacy Program; Linda Skramstad, center, is the call center's team leader; and Allison McMenamin is a new customer service representative, who was one of eight hired this year.

Blue Cross Blue Shield's call center in Valley City recently added eight jobs to its office, bringing a total of 19 employees. An Economic Policy Institute study showed that each of the eight new jobs adds approximately $115,000 in economic impact, which is close to $1 million total.
Linda Skramstad, the call center's team leader, said eight new employees started Sept. 16. She said the jobs were added because it was anticipated they'd need more customer service representatives based on the new healthcare reform.
