BC Steam Thresher Visits MN

Dan Voegele of Bismarck and Neil Pederson of Valley City help load a 1913 Gaar Scott steam traction engine owned by Jon and Lori Jury of rural Valley City early Monday morning.

A 1913 Gaar Scott steam traction engine restored by the Jury family of Barnes County traveled to Rollag, Minn., early this week to be part of the 60th anniversary Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion Friday through Monday, Sept. 2, said Lori Jury.
Dan Voegele of Bismarck along with Neil Pederson of Valley City helped load the engine owned by Jon and Lori Jury of rural Valley City early Monday morning.
Lori said the 100-year-old engine has been restored by the Jury family and friends over the summer along with a wooden Gaar Scott threshing machine. The 100 year old wooden threshing machine was purchased in Canada by the Jurys, and has not been operational for more than 60 years.
