Barnes County North Girls Take 5th Seed in District 5 Tourney

Barnes County North girls hoops defeated Midkota/Kensal 54-49 at home on Thursday night for their second straight win before falling 55-48 to Oakes on Friday night.

Bison junior center Kayla Scott led Barnes County North with 11 points against Midkota/Kensal, sophomore guard Sam Wieland with 10.

Midkota/Kensal freshman guard/forward Jade Boote powered her squad with 12 points, junior guard/forward Brooke Ronningen 11 of her own.

Barnes County North, 0-5 in District 5 action and 5-14 overall, is the fifth District 5 Tournament seed and opens playoff action at 6 p.m. Friday against No. 5 seed Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier in Ellendale, N.D. The winner faces No. 1 LaMoure/Litchville-Marion in the quarterfinals at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
