The heat and humidity of July has finally arrived, but with the sunshine and hot weather comes risks. In order to prevent complications from the heat, Sarah Hansen, registered nurse with the City-County Health District, recommends a few steps people can take.
She said when outside, stay hydrated by drinking nonalcoholic and decaffeinated fluids and take things slowly.
"Don't do too much strenuous activity," she said. "Dress for summer; wear lightweight clothing and light-colored clothing to reflect heat and sunlight."
