Audrey Darlene Severson
Audrey Darlene (Rose) Severson, 84, of Huntington Beach, Califomia, passed away July 12, 2014, after a seventeen year battle with leukemia. Audrey, known as Bunnie, was undergoing her second round of chemotherapy.
Bunnie, daughter of Herman and Henrietta Rose, was born September 13, 1929, in Wimbledon, North Dakota. She was the fourth of six children, spending her childhood in Wimbledon, and a graduate of Wimbledon High School.
Bunnie married Milton "Bud" Severson of Dazey, in 1948. They lived in Valley City and Wimbledon, and their first three children were born in North Dakota. The family moved to Inglewood, California, in 1955, where their last two children were born, then moved to Huntington Beach, California in 1964.
Bunnie was predeceased by her parents; siblings Marjorie (Leo) Steckler of Wimbledon, Geraldine (Frank) Weiss of Spiritwood, and James (Dorothy) Rose of Whittier, California; and her husband, Bud.
Bunnie is survived by siblings Ronald (Joan) Rose of Wimbledon and Doris (Charles) Hightower of Chula Vista, California; daughters Liz Severson, Huntington Beach, California; Kathie (Rich) Derby of Huntington Beach, CA; Robin (Bryan) Harris of Lawrence, Kansas; sons Cory (Rochelle) Severson of Huntington Beach, CA and Tom Severson of Lawrence, KS. Granddaughters Heather Derby, Heidi Derby and Kellie (Dave) Bell; Grandsons Russ Harris, Tom (Jessica) Harris, and Casey Severson; GreatGrandchildren Collin Harris, Rylee Harris, and Lyam Harris.
Bunnie became active in a local seniors group in 1997, participating in cruises and day trips, volunteering, taking exercise classes, all with a group of like-minded seniors. She also remained active in family activities, enjoying trips to visit family in Lawrence, Kansas, and family trips to Catalina Island in California, Orcas Island in Washington, and Rosarita, Mexico. Bunnie enjoyed spending time with her family playing cards, games, and working on jigsaw puzzles.
Private services were held July 27.
