Area SkillsUSA Students go to Nationals in KC

Three students from Sheyenne Valley Area Career Technology Center’s SkillsUSA chapter participated in national competition in Kansas City on June 23-27.

Tera Laney-Uecker competed in the promotional bulletin board placing 6th in the nation. Tera also served as a voting delegate for election of national SkillsUSA officers and other national business. Andrew Sadek competed in electrical construction wiring placing 17th in the competition.

Jed Hansen competed in computer maintenance technologies in which he placed 21st.

In addition to their respective competitions the students and their advisors Eric Holland and Jason Bowen were able to view and participate in interactive trade show exhibits and had the option of spending a night at a Kansas City Royals baseball game or spend an evening at an area amusement park.
