VC XC Does Well at Central Cass
Three teams from Valley City High School won team championships at the Casselton Invite Thursday.
The Hi-Liners got team championships from the junior varsity girls and boys and the varsity girls. The boys finished seventh of ten teams.
The varsity girls, who are missing Ruth Ihry, Mikaylah Ross and Amanda Starr to injury, were led by April Berntson, who took second place at 15:47. She was followed in by Barbara Zubrod, who took eighth in 16:40.
Casey Englehard led the boys with a sixth place finish in the varsity race finishing in 18:31.
The JV boys had girls had top-5 finishes from Mikey Meesterm Joey Aus, Eden Crump and Aislinn Fogarty.

VCHS Tennis Swept at Regionals
The Valley City High School boys tennis team was swept in both its matches at the Eastern Dakota Conference regional team tournament Thursday in Grand Forks.
The Hi-Liners lost 5-0 to Red River in the first round before losing 5-0 to Fargo Davies in the consolation semifinals.
Red River won the tournament with a 5-0 win in all three matches it played. Fargo North, Grand Forks Central and Fargo Shanley all qualified for the state tournament.
The EDC individual tournament starts today in Grand Forks.
