9-1-1 Dispatch, One More Roadblock

Renovations for a new 9-1-1 dispatch center in the Barnes County Courthouse basement have already begun in spite of the county's failure to obtain a building permit for the project. Barnes County plans to take over operations of the dispatch center in July.

Barnes County's move of the 9-1-1 dispatch center hit another snag recently. According to Valley City Building and Fire Inspector Dave Andersen, Barnes County needs to obtain a building permit and have an asbestos inspection done before remodeling space in the Barnes County Courthouse basement for a new dispatch center.
