Hi-Liner Track & Field came away with seven new personal bests in Fridayâ€™s Eastern Dakota Conference Indoor Championships at North Dakota State.
Sophomore John Halgrimson set his own Shot Put record with a heave of 40 feet, 6 inches for 12th place to break his previous mark of 38 feet, 3.5 inches. He improved his personal 60 Meter Dash mark to 7.49 seconds from 7.56 seconds, his 24.25-second 200 Meter Dash earned him eighth place, and his 18-foot, 9.75-inch Long Jump earned him 10th.
â€śI just go,â€ť said Halgrimson of his routines. â€śIf I think too much I get shaky, so I just go.â€ť
Junior Bekah Peterson set a 400 Meter Dash personal best at 1:08.22 for fifth, up from her previous 1:08.88, and took seventh in the Triple
Jump with a total of 31 feet, 3.50 inches.
Senior Jamie Ronning set a personal record in the 200 Meter Dash at 34.38 seconds for 35th to improve her 35.18-second mark.
Sophomore Tabatha Branam set her new Shot Put record with a heave of 24 feet, 5 inches to beat her own 22-foot, 4-inch mark for 31st.
Senior Dustin Lindgren set a new personal best of 8.07 seconds for 34th in the 60 Meter Dash to break his old record of 8.27 seconds.
Sophomore Erik Milender set a new personal record of 8.07 seconds in the 60 Meter Dash to break his old 8.25 seconds for 35th.
