Correction
An article and headline in Wednesday's edition of the Times-Record incorrectly stated that the Maple Valley boys basketball team is trying to win their third straight Barnes County Tournament title, when the team is trying to win its fourth.
Maple Valley won the tournament twice in 2010, when the boys and girls tournaments switched months, and also won in 2011.

VCHS Wrestling Beats Devils Lake
The Valley City High School wrestling team beat Devils Lake 69-12 Tuesday in a dual in Devils Lake.
The Hi-Liners wrestle again tonight when they host Fargo North at 7 p.m. and also host the VCHS Holiday Tournament at the HAC on Saturday.

Olson Named Wrestler of the Week
The Farmers Union Insurance wrestler of the week is Masyn Olson.
Masyn Olson is a first year wrestler. Masyn had an outstanding tournament Dec 8 at the Grand Forks Sertoma Junior Varsity tournament. Masyn advanced to the finals with three straight wins before falling in the finals to a wrestler from Detroit Lakes.

The wrestler of the week is sponsored by Farmers Union Insurance -Kirk Olson and Tyler VanBruggen

JVC Prowl Bantam B Results

The Jamestown Valley City Bantam B Prowl Hockey Team lost 4-1 to the Fargo Freeze Bantam B Green on Friday night in Fargo.  Scoring the lone goal for JVC was Braden Sherfy with the assist from Brandon Miller.  Nicole Mayland had a total of 19 saves for the game.
The JVC Bantam B Prowl split with the Bismarck Americans on Sunday. The first game win went to Bismarck, who won 2-1 with Hunter Beckman scoring the lone unassisted goal for JVC. Alex Schauer skated away with a total of 32 saves for the game. 
The second game win went to Jamestown/Valley City, who won 4-3. Brandon Miller notched a hat trick, with three goals on two assists from Jaryn Stading and one assist from Hunter Beckman. Stading had one goal with an assist from Miller. Mayland skated away with a total of 30 saves for the game.
