In the Fields Working Away All Weekend

July 1, 2013

The weather couldn't have been better for the Elysian pastime. Eight teams (including both Valley City Post #60 teams) from as far away as Grand Forks vied from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon for the Leever's Classic trophy.
The championship game was played Sunday afternoon, between LaMoure and Nelson County Owls, and what a game it was, starting as a pitchers' duel, and ending with LaMoure getting eight-runned in the bottom of the sixth.

The Vikings put a run on the board in the bottom of the fourth, and then in the fifth, all heck broke loose with the bats.
