Cynthia L. Roth, age 62, Resident of Dilworth, MN, passed away early Sunday morning on July 6, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Moorhead, MN. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday July 15, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Valley City. A viewing will be held one hour prior to funeral service at the church. Interment will be in Memory Gardens in Valley City following the funeral service.
Arnes Johnson, age 98 of Valley City died July 7, 2014 at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Monday July 21, 2014 at Our Saviorâ€™s Lutheran Church with Rev. Jolene Knudson-Hanse officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Monday at the church and interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Joseph â€śJoeâ€ť R. Anderson, 91, rural New Rockford, died July 8, 2014, at Sanford Health, Fargo. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at Kvernes Lutheran Church, rural Carrington. Interment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery, New Rockford.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; two sons, Gary and David, both of New Rockford; two daughters, Shelley Rigsby, Jamestown, and Patti Larson, Sheyenne; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. (Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford)
Elmer Zimbelman of Oakes, ND, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the Oakes Good Samaritan Society. He was 100 years old.
Rhonda Williams, 48, Jamestown, ND died Friday, July 4, 2014 at her home in Jamestown, ND.
Rhonda Wilson was born July 1, 1966 in Illinois, the daughter of Jerry and Pam (Calloway) Wilson. She attended school and grew up in Missouri.
She and Pete Williams were married and made their home in Missouri until moving to Arizona for a time before moving to Jamestown where they continued to live.
A Valley City man convicted of gross sexual imposition of a child under 15
was sentenced Wednesday in Barnes County District Court.
Timothy Tucker, 30, was convicted of gross sexual imposition of an 8-year-old female for the September, 2013 incident after he entered an Alford plea on April 8, meaning he admitted enough evidence was present to convict him. He did not admit to the crime, according to Barnes County States Attorney Carl Martineck.
Repairs to the fountain in Valley City's City Park are on hold until after security cameras are installed in the park, said Tyler Jacobson, director of the Valley City Parks and Recreation District Thursday. More in Friday's issue of the Times-Record.
The new Stoudt-Ross Ford building is well on its way to completion and is set to open mid-fall around Oct. 1, Nate Kvilvang, general manager, said.
Kvilvang said the entire shell of the nearly 25,000 square-foot building is up and it should fully-enclosed by the end of this week.

Barnes County residents are at risk of catching West Nile virus, now that the Grand Forks Mosquito Control program has reported to the North Dakota Department of Health that it identified a mosquito pool that has tested positive for the virus. More in Friday's issue of the Times-Record.
On Saturday, July 12, from 1 p.m. on, a fundraiser for the Midland Continental Depot Museum in Wimbledon, N.D., will take place in the Wimbledon Park.
From 1 p.m. until gone floats will be served, including root beer, orange or grape, along with ice cream sundaes including Donna Petersonâ€™s hot fudge and all the toppings.
There will also be face-painting and temporary tattoos. Vanilla and chocolate ice cream will be provided by the Midwest Dairy Association.
