Throwback Thursday: 'Suddenly It's Summer'

The Valley City Times-Record plans to run a historical photograph each week on Thursdays submitted by our readers.

Pauline Lentz of Mesa, Ariz., provided the Times-Record with this photograph of Julie Lentz, the daughter of Pauline and Bob Lentz, taken in 1979. Julie is selecting sundress and hat for a "Suddenly It's Summer" promotion sponsored by the Valley City Times-Record and local businesses. Pauline said her daughter worked at The Fair Store in Valley City during high school, and has good friends who live in Valley City.

Faith Lutheran, Another Step Closer

Faith Lutheran Church will soon start building its new home, but it will be in a different building than the one originally planned.

According to Reverend Jolene Knudson-Hanse, the new plan came from Enterprise Sales in Valley City and is about 2,000 square feet larger than the old plan, allowing more space for gathering as well as dedicated classrooms, all in a more modern setting. She's hoping for skylights in the sanctuary to fill it with light like the former sanctuary.

CHI Mercy Patients Dye eggs

Swing bed patients at CHI Mercy Health spent Wednesday afternoon dying Easter eggs for themselves and other patients at the hospital, said activities director Mary Kay Johnson.
