Adult Prom

"Love Is in the Air" was the theme of the second annual adult prom at the Valley City Eagles Club Friday. Dozens of folks donned their fancy dresses and formalwear to dance the night away to the country band Boomtown before posing for photos and participating in a grand march.

Eagles Manager Rich Hass said more than 50 couples attended the prom, double last year's amount.

Deb Kohler Wins Bank Forward Service Award

Deb Kohler of Valley City's Bank Forward has been named a winner  of the bank's annual Bill Brown Award, Bank Forward’s highest honor for outstanding service.

Jefferson Debuts Master Reader Program

Jefferson Elementary School's Master Reader Program debuted Feb. 12 with nine community master readers. The goal of the Master Reader program is to bring civic leaders in to the classroom to read to students.

The goal is that by doing this students will notice that reading is a life long skill.

The readers spent approximately 30 minutes interacting with and reading to students in kindergarten through third grade.

The Winter Show offers a variety of entertainment throughout the week, including the popular country concert Friday, weekend rodeo and the country hoedown on Tuesday.

Sadek Case Referred to ND, Minn. Authorities

The North Dakota State College of Science Campus Police Department has requested help from outside agencies in the investigation into the death of Andrew Sadek.

According to a statement released Thursday, the NDSCS Campus Police investigation into the circumstances surrounding Sadek's death is ongoing. "As part of the investigative process, NDSCS has requested additional assistance from the North Dakota Bureau of Investigation and the Minnesota Bureau of Apprehension."
