North Dakota Farmers Union is holding a "Rally for Family Farms" on the steps of the North Dakota State Capital Building Friday, March 27, at 2 p.m. in response to the passage of legislation the organization claims will weaken the state's corporate farming law.

Grace Free Members Depict Easter Story Through Passion Play

Grace Free Lutheran Church members will combine their talents to put on the fourth annual Passion Play this weekend. "He's Alive," written by church member Tim Berntson, is a musical depiction of the events leading to Easter.

The play is open to the community Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28 at the church at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 29 at 5 p.m. It is free to the public.

ND Clears CCHD Asbestos

The City County Health District expects to move into its new headquarter in the former Valley City First Community Credit Union building by the end of April now that asbestos has been cleared from a tunnel under the south side of the building.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Germanwings Flight 9525 Crashes in French Alps With 150 People Onboard

An Airbus with 150 people onboard crashed in the southern French Alps on Tuesday, officials said. The A320, operated by Lufthansa’s budget airline Germanwings, was flying from Barcelona to Dusseldorf and went down in the Digne region of the Alps-De-Haute Province, according to Reuters. There were 144 passengers, two pilots and four crew members, Germanwings said. "We are sorry to confirm that flight 4U9525 is an accident," the airline said on Twitter.

New Apartment Building Opening Soon

Northport Apartments, owned by Valley Realty, are nearly complete and will start being rented May 1.

The apartment complex is located at the corner of Ninth Avenue and 12th Street Northwest.

The 42-plex has one- and two-bedroom units, each including a garage, said Jim Knutson, vice president of Valley Realty.
