The Valley City High School girls basketball team will have to wait a few more days to take on West Fargo in the Eastern Dakota Conference regional basketball tournament.
Tuesday's game against the Packers, which was set for 7 p.m., was postponed due to a storm that could bring up to a foot of precipitation to Valley City.
The game will be played 7 p.m. Thursday at West Fargo High School.
The American Association of School Librarians division of the American Library Association has recognized the library and information technologies concentration of Valley City State Universityâs online master of education program as a quality school librarianship program.
VCSU is the only university in the North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota and Montana region with a nationally recognized program of this type.
More than 100 attend the first VC food expo
Well over a hundred people gathered at the Hi-Liner Activity Center at the Valley City High School on Monday evening to partake in the cityâs first Food Expo. The Expo offered residents a look at local food suppliers, community supported agriculture and organic farms.
The evening was sponsored by local groups What in the World is Going On? and The Young Peopleâs Healthy Heart as well as Medina-based FARRMS (Foundation for Agriculture and Rural Resource Management and Sustainability.
The National Weather Service in Grand Forks is predicting a major winter storm for parts of eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota beginning late today and stretching into Wednesday.
A foot or more of snow is possible across the southern Red River Valley, tapering to six inches farther north along the Highway 2 corridor. Meteorologist Todd Hamilton of the National Weather Service in Bismarck said that Valley City could be in the 9 to 12 inch range for precipitation.

VALLEY CITY (Midwest Dairy Association) To help commemorate the 75th Anniversary of North Dakota Winter Show, dairy farmers have invited Viktor, the Minnesota Vikings mascot, to meet fans, pose for photos and sign autographs. Viktor will be appearing at the show from 1-3 p.m., Thursday, March 8, near the Midwest Dairy Association milkshake stand inside the North Dakota Winter Show building.
It was a far cry from bulls, broncs and cowboys at the Winter Show main arena Saturday night.
In a venue usually accustomed to hosting rodeos and livestock shows, the atmosphere was slightly different, with blaring hip hop entrance music, a scantily clad ring girl and intensely focused fighters pacing the floor in anticipation of the next fight.
Hundreds of fans had come from as close as Jamestown and as far as the Turtle Mountain Reservation to witness a first in Valley City: mixed martial arts cage fighting.
An 18-year-old Valley City man died following a single-vehicle rollover on Thursday night.
A 2004 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Dillon Kapaun, a senior at Valley City High School, was observed driving south out of town on County Road 21 by a Valley City Police Officer who saw sparks emitting from the front left wheel assembly.
A caller to the Valley City Police Department reported a pick-up had hit the bridge on Viking Drive prior to the rollover, and Sgt. Josh Rude with the Highway Patrol confirmed it was the same vehicle.
