Monson Is Sportsman of the Year

Barnes County farmer Dick Monson was recently named the North Dakota Wildlife Federation Sportsman of the Year at the 80th annual meeting of the club. Monson received his award at the meeting Saturday, Jan. 17 in Bismarck.

Passenger killed, driver injured after rollover near Dazey

A 33-year-old male from Casselton was killed Saturday night when the Chevrolet Silverado he was a passenger in rolled on Highway 26, 7 miles east of Dazey. The 30-year-old male driver of Dazey was injured and transported to Sanford Hospital, according to a media release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

According to the release, the driver lost control of the vehicle at about 8:45 p.m. The vehicle entered the south ditch, vaulted off a township road and rolled, coming to rest upside down.

VC Approves Moving Forward with Financial Program

January 23, 2015

The Valley City Commission approved moving forward with a contract for a financial transparency computer program, pending contract review of the contract, in a 3-2 vote.

The web-based program, created by OpenGov.com, can be used to access, analyze and share financial data from all of the city's departments.
