Bigger and Better, Hi-Lites Head to National Competition

The Valley City Hi-Lites dance team is headed to Orlando, Fla., for a dance competition sponsored by the National Dance Alliance.

On March 6, the team will board a plane from Grand Forks bound for dance greatness, but before that can happen, they need to raise $25,000, according to Hi-Lites coach Megan Gilbertson.

February is Heart Health Month

Governor Jack Dalrymple has proclaimed February as American Heart Month in North Dakota. In recognition of American Heart Month, the North Dakota Department of Health continues to raise awareness about the importance of prevention, early detection and treatment of heart disease.

Bridal Showcase at Steakhouse Sunday

Those looking to use Woodland Steakhouse Bar and Grill as a venue for weddings, anniversary parties and more can visit the new restaurant Sunday during the bridal showcase.

Co-owner Dianne Hatcher said her bridal consultant, Dianne Gras of Valley City, will be on hand from 2-5 p.m. to show people how the restaurant can be customized for a wedding or other party.

Diversity Meeting Successful

New BCMA Hangar Nearly Full

Hi-Liner Boys Defeat Knights Friday

Friday night, the Valley City Hi-Liner boys basketball team defeated the Grand Forks Knights, moving Valley City into ninth place in the Eastern Dakota Conference.

VC Arrest Leads to Stolen Vehicle

February 3, 2015

A stolen vehicle was recovered and a Nebraska man faces multiple charges after a traffic stop in Valley City Sunday morning.

Ring Peter Akol, 21, was arrested without incident at about 4 a.m. Sunday after being pulled over for speeding in the 400 block of Main Street, Valley City by Valley City Police Officer Nick Horner who discovered the Chevrolet Blazer Akol was driving was reported stolen in Fargo Saturday.
