James Mark Perry, age 67 of Dunseith, died on Friday, January 23, 2015 in his home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Burial will be in the Rendahl Cemetery of rural Dunseith. Visitation will be on Thursday beginning at 10:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. in the Nero Funeral Home of Bottineau.
Former Valley City man, David McDonald, is walking across the United States with his new wife, Natallie (Jones) McDonald, a Lisbon native. The pair began their journey in St. Augustine Beach, Fla. Thursday, Jan. 22. They married Monday along the way.
The McDonalds started their walk they call "1 Step at a Time" at the Atlantic Ocean, and intend to stay south, walking all the way to the Pacific Ocean in San Diego, Calif.

North Dakota District 24 Senator Larry Robinson was the keynote speaker at the Valley City Fire Department's annual recognition banquet Saturday.
Among those honored were assistant chief Daryl Stensland for 35 years of service; firefighter Jason Runge, five years; Lt. Scott Magnuson, 30 years; and Lt. Jeff Schlittenhardt, 30 years (pictured).

The Valley City High School Dance Squad took six medals in three categories during the North Dakota Association of Dance and Drill state championships Friday and Saturday in Jamestown, even though they are the youngest Class A team in the state.
Brent Siverson, 33, Casselton, ND died on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 near Dazey, ND as a result of a car accident. Brent left our lives to join his dad on his dadâ€™s birthday.

A 22-year-old Valley City man bowled a perfect score in a city league tournament Sunday. The $1,000 Brady Anderson will receive from bowling alley sponsors will benefit Michelle Brendmoen, a Valley City woman who suffered brain aneurysms and underwent multiple surgeries earlier this month.

Ruth Ann Ployhar died on January 24, 2015, at Eventide in Moorhead following complications resulting from a stroke on December 28, 2014. She was 87.
