Dallas used the 3rd quarter to put this game out of reach. After a tightly contested first half the score was 14-7 in Dallas’ favor. Dallas was able to use an early second half turnover to score a 24 yard touchdown pass from Tony Romo to Cole Beasley. They used great field position to tack on 2 more touchdowns before the end of the 3rd quarter to make the score 35-7. Chicago made the game somewhat close thanks to a 21 point fourth quarter of their own, but it was too little, too late.

Three Viking Volleyball Players Named NAIA Scholar-Athletes

Three Valley City State University volleyball players have been named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes, announced Friday by the NAIA national office. 

Barbara Ector, Kaitlyn Heuring and Stephanie Miller all received the award, which recognizes student-athletes who excel in the classroom.

Hazen Standout to Join Valley City State Volleyball

Valley City State University volleyball coach Adam Longmore announced today that Autumn Johnson from Hazen, N.D., has signed a letter of intent to attend VCSU and play volleyball for the Vikings this fall. More in Monday's Times-Record.

Viking Women's Basketball Tip Off Home Stand with 85-33 Win

Valley City State University took control late in the first half as the Viking women's basketball team rolled to an 85-33 victory over Trinity Bible College on Tuesday night at the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse.

Valley City State improves to 4-4 overall with the big win in the first of three straight home games. The Vikings never trailed in the game, but the Lady Lions kept the it close for the first 17 minutes. 

Viking Men Knock Off Trinity Bible, 74-59

The Valley City State University men's basketball team opened a five-game home stand Friday night, and it was good to be home.

Riley West scored 15 points as the Vikings knocked off Trinity Bible College 74-59, improving to 4-6 overall this season and 4-1 at the friendly confines of the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse.

Duel in the Dirt Results

November 24, 2014

Bull riders from the area and nationwide competed in Valley City at the Duel in the Dirt bull riding finals at the North Dakota Winter Show this weekend. The event featured riders from various summer bull riding events.

Justin Stringer, of 5 Star Bucking Bulls, which organized the event, said the finals featured riders from the Sanborn, Steele, Litchville, Sibley and Williston bullaramas as well as some invited stars.

1. Zac Peterson, Velva, N.D. - 166 pts
2. Amos Yoder, Alden, Iowa - 156.5 pts

Viking Football Season Ends at Carroll College

November 24, 2014

Three first-half turnovers put the Viking football team in a hole it couldn't dig out of Saturday during the first round of the NAIA Football Championship Series.

The Vikings trailed top-ranked Carroll College 35-0 at halftime en route to a 49-0 season-ending loss as a great season did not end the Vikings' way.

Watch Party for VCSU Football Game

The Valley City State University Booster Board and Alumni Board invite alumni, fans and friends of Viking Athletics to attend a watch party Saturday, Nov. 22 starting at 12:30 p.m. at the Valley City Country Club.
 
Fans will be able to watch the Viking football playoff game which kicks off at 1 p.m. CST. The Booster and Alumni board will provide chili. 

Come out to cheer on the Viking football team as they take on Carroll College in the first round of the NAIA playoffs. If you can't make it to the watch party, below are several ways to follow the game live.
