Valley City State University Athletic Director Jack Denholm announced on Friday the hiring of Adam Longmore as the 11th head volleyball coach in school history.
Longmore replaces Susan Kolbow, who resigned in January following four seasons as head coach, and takes over the program in mid-April.

Hi-Liner softball's Tuesday doubleheader vs. Grand Forks Red River was rescheduled to Saturday, but has since been postponed. Friday's doubleheader at West Fargo has also been postponed.
Softball (2-0 overall)'s next game is currently scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 8 at Fargo South.
Baseballâ€™s Tuesday 5 p.m.-and-7 p.m. doubleheader opener against Grand Forks Central has been cancelled, and their 5 p.m.-and-7 p.m. home doubleheader against Devils Lake has been postponed to May 8.

Valley Twisters Gymnastics was in Fargo last weekend for the North Dakota USA Gymnastics State Meets, from which Eryn Crump and Rebekah Kauffman emerged as Girls victors and Jonah Kauffman the Boys Floor champion.
Crump won Vault and Bars and took the All-Around title with 35.65 points for a spot on the North Dakota Super 8 Team that will compete at Regionals on April 11.
Bethany Crump also earned a Regional spot with fourth place on Beam and Floor and a first-place 34.625 Level 8 All-Around score.
Valley Cityâ€™s Sharks Swim Team competed at the March 14-16 North Dakota State Short Course Swimming Championships in Bismarck.
Annie Hart and Camille Kawasaki competed in the Girlsâ€™ 15-16 division, Hailee Peterson and Noelle Thompson in the Girlsâ€™ 13-14, Ashley McFadgen in the Girlsâ€™ 11-12, Brady Lettenmeier in the 9-10 Boys, Clorissa Nelson and Georgia Lettenmeier in the 8 & Under.

After just four days off following a 16-game, 12-day Tucson, Ariz. stretch, Valley City State baseball opens their in-state games this weekend with doubleheaders at Dickinson State on Saturday and Sunday.
As of Thursday afternoon, Saturdayâ€™s forecast in Dickinson calls for a high near 59 degrees and mostly sunny skies. Sundayâ€™s games could be in jeopardy as the forecast calling for a chance of rain and a high near 40 degrees. Game times are 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Mountain Time on Saturday, and 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Mountain Time on Sunday.
A pair of Valley City State University menâ€™s basketball recruits have received even more postseason awards.
Milnor 6-foot-3-inch senior guard Briton Bussman, who became the Class B Senior Athlete of the Year on March 8, was also a finalist and finished second in voting for the North Dakota Mr. Basketball Award. Bussmanâ€™s latest honor came with First Team All-State distinction on March 24 that followed All-Region and All-District status.
