Jenson, Babe Ruth Blank Edgeley, 18-0

June 11, 2014

Sam Jenson pitched Valley City Babe Ruth’s second no-hitter in as many games and led the offense in Tuesday night’s 18-0, 19-hit District win over host Edgeley.

“Again we had another great pitching performance,” Valley City head coach Lance Lukes said. “Jenson improved from his last outing and found some things that worked and kept up with them. Our offense came out little sluggish in the first two innings; we talked and changed our approach and rattled off base hit after base hit. It’s always nice to put up that many hits in a game.”

Babe Ruth Sweeps Oakes

June 10, 2014

Drew Oberlander drove home five runs and scored two more in Monday’s 16-2 five-inning District win over Oakes, then Riley Miller’s two-walk, four-strikeout no-hitter highlighted a three-inning 12-0 non-District nightcap.

“It was great to see the boys aggressive early in the contest,” Valley City head coach Lance Lukes said. “Riley did what has become expected of Riley to do: he just pitched strikes and let our defense help him out.”
