Valley City Babe Ruth scored five runs in the sixth inning of Tuesdayâ€™s District 6 Tournament championship to finish Lisbon, 10-0, for their second title in as many years and a trip to August 1â€™s State Tournament in New Rockford, N.D.
Lisbon landed only six hits as they all too often lined into Valley
City gloves and could not bring runners home against Dawson Dietrich, who pitched six innings for a single walk and five strikeouts.
Valley City picked up 11 hits and enjoyed three Lisbon errors.
Harvey led visiting Legion Post 60 3-1 through four innings on Monday night, but impending weather drew a coin flip from which Post 60 took the win.
Harvey scored a run in the first inning, Austin Bergâ€™s RBI tied it in the top of the fourth and Harvey scored two more in the home half.
Post 60 landed three hits and committed an error, Harvey seven hits and four errors.
Chase Carpenter drew a walk.

Nate Rodriguez and the defense did the rest as Rodriguez struck out 18 batters on a walk, a hit-by-pitch and two four-strikeout innings in a complete-game no-hitter.
Valley City welcomed 33 players from North Dakota and Minnesota in Fridayâ€™s seventh annual United States Tennis Association-sanctioned Valley City Junior Tennis Tournament, sponsored by the Valley City Tennis Association, Valley City Parks and Recreation, Mercy Hospitalâ€™s Young Peopleâ€™s Healthy Heart Program and Quilted Ceiling and Centrol.

Valley City 14U No. 1 split with West Fargo in Casselton, N.D. on Monday, taking the first game 11-10 with Noelle Thompsonâ€™s big triple driving in two runs for the lead in the top of the seventh. McKenna Taylor pitched the win.
Kacee White picked up the loss in the second game, a 6-2 loss cut short in the fourth inning because it was too dark. White and Mackenzie Pederson scored in the bottom of the third to cut the deficit to 3-2, but West Fargo pulled away and Valley Cityâ€™s bats could not get going again.
Valley City 14U is at State in Grand Forks, N.D. this weekend.
Legion Post 60 ventured to Wahpeton on Thursday, falling 2-1 in the League game and 11-0 in the hitless five-inning non-League finisher.
Post 60 scored a run in the top of the sixth League inning, but Whapeton answered with two in the home half and shut Post 60 out of the seventh.
Dalton Ondracek and Chase Carpenter landed two hits in the contest.
Jesse Johnson pitched 5.1 innings for 13 first-pitch strikes and set down four batters. Austin Berg worked the final two outs of the fifth for a first-pitch strike and a strikeout.
