Hi-Liner golf hit the road for the Shanley Invite at the par-72 Fargo Country Club on Monday.
Fargo Davies won the tournament with a team score of 346. Kathleen Marsh from Davies medaled with a 76.
Valley City junior Kassidy Ronningen and senior Saidee Oberlander shot 105s, senior Sara Gilbertson a 108, Rachel Schueneman a 120 and Mikayla Gustafson 127.
Eighth-grader Abby Lemnus, sophomore Abby Ingstad and seventh-grader played at the par-3 course in JV action.

In Week 1 of Viking League bowling action, Pizza Corner went 3-1 against Enterprise, Tavern 94 won three games due to a bye, City Lights won split their games against 5 Star Bucking Bulls, and J&S Marketing was 2-2 against K&S Carpet Cleaning.
5 Star Bucking Bulls turned in the team high in a single game with 1,149 pins. J&S Marketing struck the most pins over four games with 3,124.
Jim Korf bowled a single-game high of 254 pins, as well as the high total for the series with 666.
Korf was one of many to pass the 200-pin mark with, single-game totals of 254 and 223.

Viking junior Shane Ost and Michael Strain of Jamestown are your North Star Athletic Association menâ€™s golfers of the week.
Ost earned Co-Golfer of the Week honors for the second consecutive week after taking third at the Lake Region State College Invitational with a 71 on the first day and 77 on the second day (148 total). and fourth in the University of Jamestown Open last weekend. He scored 73 (1-over) on the second day in Jamestown, the second-best round at the tournament.
Maple Valley volleyball hosted Oak Grove on Thursday night, but the Grovers took the tough match, 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-14).

Barnes County North volleyball (0-0-1 District 5, 0-6-2 overall) visited LaMoure (1-0, 2-0) on Thursday night, a match that LaMoure took â€” but not without a fight from Barnes County â€” 3-0 (25-7, 25-6, 25-23).
LaMoure's Anna Holen scored nine aces. Jackie Merklejohn dished out 16 assists, Jade Wagner 12. Kennedy Witt stuffed two blocks. Abby Warcken scooped 15 digs, Courtney Carlson 13 more. Carlson racked up 12 kills, Holen seven more.
North's Jayda Haugen helped her team with three assists. Abby Undem and Hannah Willson had one each.
Undem hustled for two digs.
Hi-Lo Bowling returned on Sept. 10 for four contests among eight teams.
J & S Ladies was 4-0 against Valley Lumber.
Service Master swept Chrissy Faye Photography, 4-0.
20/20 Auto Center swept Bank Forward, 4-0.
Leevers Foods split their series with Sky Lanes, 2-2.

Derek Elliott earned his second consecutive North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Player of the Week award in helping Valley City State to their inaugural NSAA football conference victory over Dakota State on Sept. 14. Dylan Torgerson of Mayville State (N.D.) and JT Petsch of Jamestown (N.D.) were also named to the footballâ€™s player-of-the-week honors.
Hi-Liner volleyball (1-2 Eastern Dakota Conference, 5-4 overall) visited Wahpeton (1-1, 1-7) on Thursday night as both squads looked to get back on the upswing in the EDC.
Valley City didn't lose a set by more than six points on the night, but Wahpeton took the match, 3-1 (25-19, 25-20, 19-25, 26-24).
Hi-Liner senior Jessica Denholm provided 35 assists, senior Danica Diegel three and senior Dierra Diegel two of her own.
Denholm dealt three aces, Danica Diegel two.
Clarisa Olson scooped 18 digs, Denholm 17 and Dierra Diegel 17 more.

Valley City Parks & Recreation District teams played eight games over four weeks to determine seedings for the league tournament on Sept. 11.
Captainâ€™s Pub played to an 8-0 record for the No. 1 seed. Boomer's Corner Keg finished 5-3 for No. 2. Wendel Auto Body split their games at 4-4 for the third spot. NuBar went No. 4 at 3-5, and Tangen Construction took fifth at 0-8.
Wendel Auto Body beat NuBar 12-4 in their first game and 15-5 in the second on Aug. 7.
