LIDGERWOOD, N.D. âAs the lineups were announced in Thursday's American Legion Section 1 tournament game against Kindred, Valley City Post 60 pitcher Chase Carpenter knew he could get the win.
The last time he stared the 60-feet-6-inches towards home plate against Kindred, the first game of a July 9 double header, he allowed only four hits and three runs, one of which was earned.
"I figured I'd come in here, have some confidence, just throw strikes," Carpenter said.
Kueber to join VCSU mens basketball team
Valley City State University mens basketball coach Jeff Kaminsky announced last week that regional standout Gus Kueber has signed a letter of intent to attend VCSU and join the Viking basketball program for the upcoming season.
Kueber is transferring in after playing last season at Mayville State University, where he averaged 17.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per game and was named to the All-Dakota Athletic Conference and All-Association of Independent Institutions First Teams.
