VCHS Wrestling takes 6th in Jamestown
The Valley City High School wrestling team took sixth at the Knights of Columbus tournament over the weekend in Jamestown.
The Hi-Liners had seven wrestlers finish in the top four of their division, including three who wrestled in the championship match.
Zach Doty won the championship at 170 pounds, pinning Darren Crissler in 3:45. Shane Undem (160) and Jaiden Opatz (195) both lost in the championship matches at their divisions, taking second place.
As the LaMoure/Litchville-Marion boys basketball team worked its offense in the first half of Monday's 56-54 win over Maple Valley, the final result seemed relatively simple.
Pass the ball, set a few picks, wait for a defender to fall off his cover, then take advantage of the hole with a quick cut into the lane for a layup.
"That happens when the offense is moving like its supposed to be," LLM coach Darren Thielges said. "The first half, we were fresh, so we were making good cuts."
